Doing my spark plug change soon and figured I might as well replace my VCT solenoids while I've got everything torn apart. (2) Dorman VCT solenoids cost me $100 on amazon with free shipping....anyone had any issues with these before? Or should I have replaced with OEM Ford VCT solenoids?

I DO NOT trust anything made by Dorman except their door handles. They make junk FPDM's, junk phasers, and I do not expect their VCT's to be any better. Just not worth the risk - hell, I'd pay extra to Avoid their crap.

BTW - it would be a real prudent time to remove & inspect / clean / desludge / lube the VCT solenoid valve bodies ( the component the solenoid inserts into).

when it comes to internal engine components I tend to avoid at all cost anything that doesn't say "ford" "FoMoCo" or "motorcraft" im just paranoid like that (this is excluding name brand high performance stuff, Im not gonna put stock headbolts back into a high horsepower vehicle when I can get ARP). I am like this with my own vehicles and my customers. (I give the customers an option of junk aftermarket or factory, I push motorcraft all times possible, but I cant force feed anyone).

is one of those motorcraft? Or better? All I see when I pull it up is dorman. Might be a mobile bug though.
