Default Anyone try E15 yet?

The Sheetz gas station at the bottom of the hill from my house has the E15 pumps (as most Sheetz do now). I know my truck isn’t a flex Fuel truck by the 8th VIN digit. The owners manual doesnt address higher ethanol content but the EPA has certified that it’s safe to use on all passenger vehicles 2001 and newer.

Has anyone run this for any length of time? I know it will reduce fuel economy but I’d like to try it.... but don’t want to risk burning anything up.

I don't know, but I wouldn't want a 30 dollar experiment to ruin my vehicle. I personally wouldn't, but I'm sure someone with more fuel knowledge will chime in. Just doing a quick Google searched yielded mixed results....so...who knows. I do the opposite....try to run non ethanol as much as I can

Sounds like you want to touch a stove to see how hot it is, you don't want to burn yourself, but you're just so dang curious

Since it will reduce your fuel economy then it's not worth it unless there is a corresponding reduction in price.

Hopefully Trump can do away with this ethanol lobbying crap and we can be back to real gas that actually lasts and doesn’t damage fuel system parts on small engines.

I know it's an exxonmobil website, but it sources the data from edmunds.

Anyone else using e15? I live in Iowa so it is everywhere and 5 cents cheaper a gallon than the e87 with 10% ethanol I normally use.

The EPA doesn’t build or design automotive internal combustion engines and fuel systems. Anything they “certify” for use in such that isn’t agreed upon by manufacturers should be dismissed. Not coming from an organization that does so, it carries no weight, unless Ford approved this it’s meaningless what they say.

My 2007 Expedition owners manual states E-10 and Ethanol free fuels only can be used. States that E-15 and E-85 should not be used and can result in fuel system/ engine damage. This is why I mentioned this, If your manual says it good go for it.
