Anyone has upgraded their head units? -noob
Hi All,
This maybe a noob questions, but I have an 07 f150, and I'm planning to upgrade to in-dash dvd and this is my first time to do something like this, for my wife's birthday present (yes she uses my truck and i use hers) this is also good since we love long drives.
Any advise on where to start would be appreciated.
thanks,
-g

if you and the wife plan on using the DVD for your drives, be forewarned that in most states, it is illegal to have a DVD playing when in view of the driver.
Most DVD players have a safety mechanism that prevent the unit from playing while in motion. Certain brands can be overriden easily (those that attach to the parking brake). Others can not be bbypassed easily (mine has nav and will not play when the GPS recognizes mvement).

You might also want to read up on posts in the "stereo/audio" forum on this site. Lots of good posts on what folks are using as replacement head units in their trucks.
