Default Anyone get this??

A sort of -rumble strip- feeling. It seems to only happen over 40 mph under light acceleration just before it down shifts. It only lasts for a second and stops. 2007 Lariat 5.4 4wd w/36,000miles
Thanks

If I had to guess i would say that its just the feeling of your truck running at low RPM's. 40 MPH is like the lowest speed you can go in 4th gear and the computer wants to keep it there as long as possible so under light acceleration it wont kick down as fast and sorta "chugs" for a second. At least thats how i imagined your problem. Happens to me all the time especially when i start to go up hills and stuff

I get the same thing on my 07 Lariat. I was wondering if others have had this happen. Haven't seen any post here about it. Running over rumble strips is a good description of what it feels like. I don't have a clue what causes it.

I think there is a TSB on this.. could be wrong though... could be a different issue... but if it is the same.. i think it's just a quick ride over to your local dealership and a flash of the transmission...

heres a link to the TSB

YOu are right. The ford dealship I contacted about this will reprogram your truck with the new programs. They say it is a old program problem. They want $90 to do it though...WTF no warranty coverage on a problem created by ford.

I'd shop around a little.. although the procedure can take some time.. if your going to do this.. make sure the complete TSB is performed by looking at your odometer and marking it... per the TSB second page.. they require the mechanics doing the work to actually DRIVE your truck...

I had this issue when i first got my truck.. luckly i quickly noticed the issue and they reflashed it the same day i tested it... problem solved.... that was before i knew about the TSB...
