How's about waiting to see what the dealer is willing to do before lawyering up? It's not a bad idea but only if you can't get resolve any other way.

Most junkyards will know the mileage of a motor that they are going to sell. Never know, you may end up getting a much lower mile engine than what's in it now.

I'm with Lenn all the way on this one.
The fact is, when you buy a used vehicle, you are buying somebody else's problems. You are taking a chance that whatever those problems are, you will be able to deal with them. Sometimes the problem is a high monthly payment that the PO couldn't deal with. Sometimes it's a series of failures to various systems. There is no real way to know until after the fact.
The fact the dealership even offers a warranty speaks to their intent to deliver a quality vehicle. My dealer offered a similar warranty, to get a Ford warranty that covers my truck for more than a year and 100,000 miles, I had to pay quite a bit extra.
As pointed out, an engine from a wreck is not necessarily a bad engine. But if you feel more comfortable with a zero miles remanufactured engine, I really like your idea of paying the difference to get what you want.
Even junkyard engines aren't cheap, you might find the difference in price isn't very great after all.

Thank all of you guys, seriously. I'm going to wait until tommorrow and see whats up when the adjuster from the warrenty company comes. And I'll go from there. I don't think and hope and laywer will be needed. I have no idea how the truck still ran. And it actually ran normal. Ford Quality? Haha. I will keep everyone posted when I know.

Thanks again everyone!

I have to agree on this one. How the hell does a camshaft break and how can a car with a broken camshaft drive much less idle. And broken lifters? That engine does not have lifters it's an overhead cam engine. Something's a foul with the story from the dealership that want to replace the engine. As far as the noise it's definitely not normal but if its the same noise many have here its not fatal either. I've had the diesel sound for over 60k with no issues and like many others its only on the passenger side. I would go the dealer and have them show you the broken camshafts and lifters. I seriously doubt they will. Either way my first option is tell the selling dealer that they sold you a trick with a blown engine and demand a refund. Second option is to attempt to obtain VIN of donor engine truck and check with DOT to see if they have mileage records for truck.

Something does sound fishy here. I'd first like to see actual proof that the engine grenaded itself. These motors are a hit and a miss, but more hit than miss. It just turns out that when something goes wrong on them then the whole thing needs to be replaced.

I didn't mean get a Lawyer, the website Just Answer you can talk to a Lawyer for a very small fee and get advise on how to handle the situation, just to make sure your *** doesn't get banged to hard....dealers can be very shady.
I used Just Answer to talk to a Ford Tech. about my ABS Light being on and he advise me how to find out what was causing the Light to be on.....the fee was $32.00 and I tipped him $8.00, total was $40.00 and my light is off again. Just Answer has Doc/Lawyers/Mechanics and other professions that help you for a small fee verses going somewhere looking for professional help at a much larger fee. Anyway I was just trying to help the guy out cause I can see this may be a huge nightmare in the making for him.

i would just let them put the motor in. it should come with a 3yr/100,000 mile warranty.
