Default Blown transmission on F150 crew cab FX4

My nephew got too drunk to drive so I drove his F150 home a few nights ago. Little did I know I had the trans in 2 instead of drive and drove about 20 miles on expressway. The next day he went on a short trip and it started slipping. I'm having problems finding a new trans to swap in from junkyards. He said its a FX4 crew cab with towing package and 4x4. Junkyards are telling me I better make sure i get the exact same trans because the 2004 model year was updated midyear. None of the codes off the tags matches anything on car-part.com. Can someone give me some input on what trans to get? I have vin too if needed. Here is a pic of the tag off the trans.

Get the VIN and enter it at www.etis.Ford.com. Click on "vehicle" and then enter the VIN. It will tell you ever option the truck left the factory with, including the exact transmission model.

Thank you! It says 4 Spd A/T AODEW/4R75E W/TSS. Will any 4R75E from any year work? Does it matter that its a 4x4?

Driving in 2nd gear for 20 miles did not blow up his trans...I just made a 400 mile trip in 3rd gear @ 65 MPH.... good luck with your search.

As long as it's a 4R75E with a Turbine Speed Sensor, you are fine.

Note, if you get a transmission that is not from a 4x4, you will have to change the output housing/shaft. That will cost more.
