Any have 24" and towed with them?
I purchase a 06 F150 Supercrew to tow boats and cars. Some of my cars can weight up to 7000 lbs. with the trailer. The truck is in stock form with the need of new tires. Since the truck need new tire I start looking around for used alloy wheels and came across a set of Drag 24" wheels. They are off a 04 Navigator and look great, but a bit suspect on towing with 24" wheels. Has any used larger after market wheels to tow? Can you give me your pros and cons? What size tires did you use? Thanks Ed

i personally have't towed with that big of rim and tire combo but i worked at a belle tire doin tires and alignments when i was in high school and as long as you get a good load rated tire you'll be ok look and BFgoodrich, toyo,Nitto has alot of oddball sizes in there tires,i don't know about goodyear but i think you need at least a load range D = 8 plies 65psi max , or a E= 10 plies 80psi max but alot of aftermaret wheels especially big ones to keep cost down cut on quality so check the D.O.T rating on the rims to

Typically, my understanding is that the bigger the rim the less weight you can tow. Even my manual indicates a difference in weight between 17 and 18" rims. A little further research will be helpful.

the cheap wheels I wouldn't tow with...I have towed with 22's and 24's and its fine if they are a good wheel, if they are a cheap wheels, I'd be weary....

Thanks Guys, I bought a set of new 18" factory take off with new tires. I think the 24" would of worked but at the weight the truck is going to tow, I better not take any chances. The reason for the 24" were merely for cosmetic reasons only. I'll post a pic once I install the wheels and tires.
