Default Belt skip when shifting from 2nd to 3rd

Edge Evo Performance setting.

Under extreme acceleration...

I can hear a squeak that sounds like the belt is losing traction.

Would the best fix for this be underdrive pulleys?

This is very common with performance settings when they get over or close to 5k. Some use a gator belt to fix. Underdrive pulleys might, but the gatorback belt is a much cheaper start.

Thanks I'll try that, if still squeak then go with pulleys. I plan on doing pulleys someday but so many mods, so little money.....

if you can tune your shift points just lower then down to where you shift at about 4800RPM i had the same problem and that fixed it.

But but but. Thats 200 RPM.... Ok. So it's option #2. Gatorback going on this weekend. If that don't take care of it I'll adjust the shift points...

I get the same belt skip even with the gatorback and i probably only have about 5000 miles on it. I just deal with it i dont floor it all the time. If i had a problem with it i would just change the shift points like f150mashin559 is talking about. But with the factory belt it was the 1-2 and the 2-3 for me.

well at WOT my truck still shifts into 2nd gear at like 50 so what do u need that xtra 200 RPM for? its just cheaper and you dont have to deal with the installation of the belt.
