has anybody with a 2004 or 2005 5.4l 3 valve triton had their plugs changed after 70,000 or more miles? if so, what was your experience/cost. thanks.

Elliott. Are you getting ready to do yours or did you just go through a nightmare doing them? I have read some horror story's and a few that turned out good even having them done over 100K miles. Following the TSB is the best way to minimize them breaking but it's still not a guarantee.
TSB 06-15-2 is the most current one on how to remove them.

changed mine at 72,000 successfully. I suggest a lot of patience. follow the TSB, once you break the seal on each plug, spray some seafoam deep creep into each socket and let it work for about an hour. the problem is carbon builds up between the bullet of the plug and the head. the deep creep or other penetrant will loosen this up so they can be safely removed. word of advice, don't wait that long to change them again. hope this helps.

I made it known that I knew there was an issue, told them that I'd gladly pay more to make sure that the mechanic took his time....They seemed very confident that there would be no problems....I asked to see the plugs, they weren't too bad looking...could have been changed out before...They installed a new fuel filter, plugs with labour $257.28, they suggested: bring it in every 30-35k and have the plugs checked and cleaned...I am very happy, maybe Ford has it worked out...I hope so...
