Another Rear ABS Sensor thread
I know we've seen this question about a hundred times, but I'm stuck. My truck, 2008 Ford F150 XLT Super Crew with the 4.6 liter 8. The ABS turned on this week and I pulled the codes, which said, Rear ABS Sensor Missing.
Another symptom of this was the brakes pulse, when stopping, until the system throws the code and shuts down the ABS.
I replaced the rear sensor with a new one, spliced a section of wire that looked like it had been sliced or squashed. The system still can't find the sensor. Does anyone have any other troubleshooting ideas or ideas on what it could be at this point? I'm really hoping it's not something in the differential, but the old sensor did look like it was mangled when I pulled it out.
Any ideas would be helpful.

I would be opening the diff to see why it was mangled all abs looks for is an a/c signal so unplug the sensor jack up the rear end and spin the tires and see if it generates an a/c signal with a multimeter that will tell you if it's working or if it's the wiring going to the sensor.
