Another cluster swap revisit
Hey gents, I have a 2007 XL 4X4 which came factory without a tachometer, well I picked up a lariat gauge cluster a few years ago dirt cheap, like 20 bucks at the pick and pull, knowing full well that I would lose my air conditioning, it wasn't a problem at the time because where I was stationed in the army it wasn't very hot and I hated the strain it put on my truck, I spent countless hours changing the color of the gauges after I picked it up and it looks awesome, but I'm now out of the army and back home in Northern California where 100 degree temps are pretty common and normal. So I want to put a different cluster in my XL to regain my AC. I couldn't find the old thread I was on and I've lost my knowledge of which ones will work with manual AC controls (no thermometer) no compass, and a console shifter, and 4X4, I Prefer to keep a tachometer too. What trim model should I look for?

The xl and STX with manual transmissions have tachometers.
To be safe, I'd stick with the one of the first 3. Also, get one from an 07-08 only. Previous do not have tpms and your truck does.
The cluster color change does look cool. But I'd swap to clear needles, you can't see yours, especially with the blue.

I just did FX4 cluster swap in my 05 XLT. The only issues I had were the tpms light blinking, which was an easy fix and just cover the light, and the door locks when in motion. I've set it but the next time I start the truck it doesn't lock again. Other than those issues, everything works in mine.
