Default Air Filter Seal

I know the problem with the air leak around the intake air filter can be fixed with some plain old weather stripping but I did find the exact part from Ford. 7L3Z-9G886-A in case anyone is interested.

I believe most of us (and I know I did with mine) replace the seal with window seal foam tape available at most any home improvement location...good luck with yours; it made an immediate improvement in mine...

m-d brand window seal 1/4" x 1/2" ...I believe it was under $5 for 17 feet of it...

good luck with your choice

Bill

That's the one I used, for that price. Hardware store was easier; I put foam 360* around the drawer opening, not just where the original foam was. It's nice and tight now.

I've been searching and can't find the issues related to the foam missing on the air filter box. What problems does it cause and what was noticed when people replaced it when it was missing?

Thank you for the part number! It looks like that part has been discontinued and replaced with this part number 5L1Z-9A600-AA
