Default Aftermarket Radio

Question, I want to install a nice aftermarket touchscreen head unit. I know it will disable the radio controls on the steering wheel, but will it also disable the AC controls?

It will not affect the AC controls; and you can get an adapter for $60 - $80 and program the radio controls (also, some units have built in SWC that allow you to program the buttons so they would continue to work with the new radio).

It will not disable the climate controls on the steering wheel. If you do it right you can also keep the radio steering wheel controls. That depends on budget and which radio you choose.

It's a cheap unit if you need to buy an aftermarket adapter. But to answer you, no, it will not effect the HVAC controls on the wheel. https://www.walmart.com/ip/Scosche-S...sem#about-item

I could really live without the wheel controls. Bonus if I get it working, but no harm if not. I just want the whole Bluetooth capabilities and such. Also want it to look as OEM as possible. Maybe with green backlights to match the rest of the truck.

If you want to make it OEM, make sure you break off a cd in the head unit so nothing else can be used. lol
