Does this camera have built in night vision? That's the one thing that would keep me personally from buying one. If it does have night vision, I think I'll be switching from my license plate mounted one to this!

I just bought this same camera... According to the listing it does not, but it supposedly picks up even the tiniest bit of light for a good picture in dark scenarios... There is a video of this camera being used in the link In the first post. From what I can tell it looks like it works well in low light...

I took a little different route with both my wires and where I made the connections. (Different strokes for different folks)

The picture that Especial86 posted was from my "How To" thread that I posted back in February:

https://www.f150forum.com/f33/instal...camera-132378/

I should have posted it here rather than in the "How To" section because nobody goes there.

Anyway....I figured I'd link to it for those that still had questions about the routing of the wires.(There are no connections under the kick plate).

Nice camera BTW

Yes, that picture was from your thread... The trailer harness seems to be a good place for all the connections, even the reverse input to the deck.

I will try and take a couple pictures tonight of how well it works at night. I will take one with the backup lights on and one without. Now to wait for it to get dark.

It is. The only reason some (including myself) like to put all the connections under the dash is to keep them out of the weather.

Just personal preference.

One question though.....and I really don't want to hijack this thread , but why would you want to run your reverse trigger all the way back to the tow harness when you can connect it two feet away from the head unit?

It's not that I want to run such a long wire, I just assume its safer to keep all the splicing in that 1 area at the tow harness... I will be soldering, shrink wrapping and taping all my connections.

But just in case I do go for the short run, is the connector where the kick panel is the spot you tapped for the reverse trigger? The black and pink wire at pin 13?
Did you just slide the wire into backside of the pin on the connector?
