here are the pictures of it in use. Don't mind the gravel all over the road, just put in a new driveway. you can see the curve of the camera due to the 170 degree viewing angle. Also, if anyone orders this camera make sure your deck/headunit requires a reversed/mirrored image. some units mirror the image for you and others require a mirrored camera. The ebay link is for a mirrored camera but the seller offers standard ones as well (also handy if you want to add a front camera for some reason)

Thats some great image quality!
The fish eye look is good enough to see everything, but not too much to where it distorts the quality and range.
Hey congrats on your sticky, you should be proud! Informative write ups with links to the product themselves are hard to come by.
Thanks again.

I'm gonna order the same mirrored camera you got tonight. My owners manual said nothing about it automatically reversing the image so would this make the mirrored camera my ideal choice?
Also did you split the power feed wire on the harness and run it to both the ignition hot wire on the trailer harness and the reverse light wire? Does this mean you added a Y in at the camera harness or a split terminal at the end of the red wire on the harness... I ask this because I noticed the wiring harness on the camera only has 2 electrical wires(red and black), and 1 RCA video connector with a wire that the website says to ignore...

Sounds like you would want the mirrored camera. The black and red wires from the camera were wired into the trailer harness. The black wire was tapped in to the white ground wire on the harness and the red wire was tapped in to the orange constant 12v on the harness. On the wiring harness for your deck you will have a reverse signal wire which needs to only have power when the truck is in reverse. This is what triggers the input to change automatically when you select reverse with the shifter. The easiest way to do that is tap in to the backup lights on your tail lights or the backup light output on the trailer harness. I chose to run a wire from the trailer harness up to the deck with the video wire but you could probably find a backup light wire in the kick plate on the drivers side. I avoid tapping in to the wires in this kick plate area because of all of the corrosion issues people have with splices in this area. Hope this makes sense for you.
Wire the black to the white on the trailer harness.
Run A separate wire to the black/pink wire in the Tow harness or in the drivers side kick panel , to the wire that says reverse on my Alpine harness.
This would complete both forms of function, correct?
This is the harness you said is prone to corrosion issues and to stay away from it. But for the sake of clarity I would just splice into the black and pink striped wire here and connect it to my wire on my deck labeled "reverse".
When you ran the black/pink wire from the trailer harness, what wire did you end up using for that run and how much of it did you need?

Sorry, I may have used the wrong term when I said kick plate. What I meant was under the door sill. Runs the length of the vehicle along the door step. I'm not sure what color or if there even is a wire in that bundle that would provide the reverse signal but it is likely and there may be a wire you can tap in to in the kick plate area in your picture I just can't say for sure. I didnt bother testing any wires there as i knew i was just going to run one back to the trailer harness. Someone else may be able to confirm. I used 16 gauge wire that I picked up from an auto store. It came on a 100 foot roll but 25' should be enough but it depends on the length of your truck. The wire I tapped into at the trailer harness was a black with pink stripe but if you want to confirm on yours you can look at the flap that covers the 7 pin harness and it shows which pin is which or of course you could double check with a volt meter.

Since I'm running a video RCA up the length of my supercrew anyway, I think I'm gonna run that wire from the trailer harness with it.
I think It's pin 13 on that "kick plate" connector that has the black and pink striped wire. I'm just not a fan of disconnecting that since I have remote start, alarm, and an edge CS in that area. I know the run would be much shorter if I put it here, but I'd rather stay away from that connector myself.
Since the orange wire on the trailer harness is hot with ignition only, I don't see how a battery drain will be an issue...
