See the manufactures (motorcycle) put a spray in liner in the tanks to keep them from rusting and the Acetone ate it all away, now what kind of problem is the guy that bought my bike going to have in the future? Rusted out holes in the tank.
Acetone did not get me better gas mileage, easing off the pedal did! I guess you will have to live and learn like I did, good luck!
I can see that being a problem for metal fuel tanks. But as for motor vehicles with plastic tanks an or other materials I do not foresee any problems with tanks rusting out. Even if Acetone DID and I'm not saying that it does not but if it did clean your engine then your also extending the life of your engine and internal parts. For me this is a win win situation.

That is a no brainer that there will be a change in size. BUT when you put 2 oz per 10 gallons, you will not see the difference. I have buddies that have been doing this method for over 10 years an have not one bit of problems only yearly savings on fuel and a cleaner engine on the inside. I'm just testing for myself because I've witnessed that it works. I just have to find out which ratio amount works best for my truck.
