I have an 05 2WD Scab XLT, just got the HBS 3" leveling kit but now I am looking at lifting the back. I have had AAL's in the past on my tacoma and really liked the increase in payload and lack of sag when towing. What would be a good brand to go with that is also good bang for the buck?

The best bang for the buck is the helper springs off the 06 e350 ford box truck. they won't affect your smooth ride they don't even work until you have a load. You can find these in the junk yard for about $50. Make sure you get all the hardware with it. They mount on top of your axle, so you won't have to touch your leaf springs at all. Has to be an 05 and up e350 cause they have the three inch leaf spring helpers. The older models have the 2 1/2 in leaf springs so take a measuring tape with you to check the with not length. I have them on my 06 f150.

06 street boss, Good find. Havn't seen overloads on a half ton newer than something in the '90's myself. Still thinking of going that route myself but unless I find a deal like you did, for about the same price or with some I've been able to find it is cheaper to go with airbags these days. They take the effort of adding/subtracting air stuff I know, but the ride seems a little nicer than the old over-load route. I'm still considering both tho. Airbags I would get would be the manual type, onlboard air would be nice but for the extra cost manuals sound great to me. Leafs just get real rough when you are loaded with something just shy of them engaging vs. air. Just something to think about. I throw a mobil airtank in the box when I know I'm gonna need to add some picking something up.

06streetboss, will the helper spring also increase my ride height? Right now my truck sits almost perfectly level but w/ the hbs 3" its gonna be off by a good bit.

Wintersucks, how much would the airbag setup run for?

Don't have it infront of me at the moment, wrote it down on some piece of paper where I was thinking of getting them from but I think around $200 for manual airbags.
