Accelerator and brake pedals too close
Fairly new to me 2008 F150 SuperCrew. I've covered both brake and accelerator pedals with one foot a few times now by accident when braking. The first time I almost ran into my garage. Seems the pedals are a bit too close together as I've never done this on other vehicles. Any suggestions?

Well I guess if you can weld, you could move the brake pedal to the left.

Must have a wide foot...

Don't push on the inside of the gas pedal. Put your foot on the right side of it?
idk...other than frankensteining it, there's not much you can do. I've a wide, flat foot, never had this problem.
Maybe move your pedals back to allow more range of motion with your leg?

Are you wearing work boots when driving?

Thanks all for the don't fat foot it theme. Really was wondering if others had noticed this and/or had modded. I've never had this problem with other vehicles. And I forgot to mention it's an XLT so non adjustable (if that would matter). And no I don't have crazy big feet, only size 12 and yes always cowboy boots.

Unfortunately, you're just gonna have to ride the outer edge of the pedal

Unfortunately I have had this happen to me several times
I try to be more careful and it happens less . I have adjustable pedals and it doesn't help . This is fly by wire ,no linkage to throttle body its all electrical . I have a size 11 but don't wear boots . To be fair I have some Diabetic neuropathy in my feet . But it proves to me there is no circuit in pcm to prevent stuck throttle on our models . This was investigated on Toyota vehicles as it was killing people . Especially models that did not have a key shutoff .
Heavy brake should always override throttle It should have back ups logic and computer circuits can and do get confused . Induced signals and interference from out side sources are hard to prevent and reduplicate. Shielding doesn't always work if used . Surely you have had to reboot your computers to get it to reset .
If this happens to you one time you will see the fear of it .
