ABS in 2005 F-150 SuperCrew
I know this was answered previously for a '98 but since I have a 2005 model year, I figured it might be different. It is a 5.4L V8 Triton.
Having issues with ABS, cannot afford to get it serviced so I was told there was an easy way to disconnect ABS without affecting overall braking. Does someone here know how to do that and can please describe this process to me?
Thank you!

Welcome to the forum! What issues are you having. I dont recommend disconnecting ABS. Also ABs reduces stopping distance by quite a bit so with the ABS disconnected you will affect the braking ability of the truck. Maybe someone on here can help you find an affordable fix rather than a work around? Probably not me as ABS is not something I'm real familiar with.

To begin with, I've driven vehicles without ABS for most of my life. They have ALWAYS been problematic for me. It will engage randomly and everything shakes as it grabs and releases repeatedly. Then I have to stop to let the brakes cool. Emergency Brake is OFF, and I am not pressing the pedal when this happens. I can go a few weeks sometimes then it just happens again. I understand people objecting to disabling the ABS, partly because most people don't know how to drive without it. I don't panic behind the wheel. Like I said, I've driven most of my life w/o ABS until I bought this one back in '05.
As to the Booster Recall, I was not notified and last time I had it in for service, I was not made aware of it. I just checked and found no such recall for my truck.

Mine was done in June of 2011. Mine had an issue before the recall where it would engage after hitting a bump while braking. After the fix it doesn't do it anymore.
The problem is that the brake booster hose swells, and the ABS kicks in.

Okay, I called and they say it is "VIN-specific" and even though mine is exhibiting those symptoms, they won't cover it. So I'm back to my original issue. How can I disengage the ABS?
