Default ? about Knock Sensors

I recently had a new remanufactured engine installed by the dealer 8,000 miles ago. my truck has been in shop for a week with knock sensor code iasked them 3 times if it was the knock sensor they said 95% positive its not, well today they called and said yes it is the knock sensor and that was an original part from the old engine and the new engine did not come with new knock sensors so it will be $660 to replace. Im curious do the new engine really not come with knock sensors????

usually on engine swaps the only thing your getting new is the block. they just take all the old stuff off of the old engine and move it over to the new one.

I know that problem...... Why not look on some of these auto parts websites and buy a pair then only pay the 1-2hrs labor for a shop to swap them out... A lot of shops mark up the cost of parts they buy.

i dont think its the parts they r marking up its the labor cuz they have to remove the intake manifold to access the knock sensors i looked at alldata and it says about 6hrs labor so i think thats what they r basing it on.

There's only 6 bolts that bolt down the intake manifold, the intake box comes off in 5min. The fuel line in 30 seconds.... I just don't see that much time in labor.
