Default 6" Lift w/ 33's

I've seen a few trucks with this setup, but I'd like to see some more. I'm in the in-between stage of lifting and needing tires. I'll also want to re-gear with 35's (4.6L) so that's also a factor for running 33's. Post some pics of any 6" lifts with 33" tires!!

I'm kind of in the same boat. I have 33s on a 2 1/2" level. I want a 6" inch lift and 35s. I know I have to do a gear change (4:56) but I don't have the funds to do it all at the same time. I'm thinking about doing the gear change first. Can't decide if I want to do tires next or lift. I think I'll be ok with 35s with my level temporarily.

What gears are you going to use with the 35's and 4.6?

I was thinking of running 4.56s so highway RPM isn't crazy.. unless 4.88s would be better. Haven't done enough research on that.

Generally, you're not wrong.

I haven't done the math on that combo, I'd probably lean towards the 4.56 with a 5.4. With the 4.6, you might want to go for the 4.88's. You're trying to keep good piston velocities with your vehicle speed...

Can you point me to some literature/articles/websites where I can learn about piston velocity and/or how to calculate what the right ratio for a 4.6L would be?
