Default 5 yes, or 8 but not 7 lug nuts

Hi Guys,
I have been unable to sort this problem out on my own.
If anyone can offer any help it would be much appreciated.
My 2004 Heritage has 7 lug nut stud pattern, I would like to change that, any suggestions.

Buy a truck with a different lug nut pattern.

That would be one way out,
But I spent a lot of time and money getting this truck in the first place, love the way it drives. Can’t be that difficult to change, can it.

You could get a conversion spacer. Problem is they add extra pressure to your wheel bearing.

You have a Heavy Duty setup, should have avoided it if you didn't like it lol. Easiest would be to get someone to swap you that wants heavy duty parts, where you want their 6 bolt setup. Idk what you're gonna want 5 lugs for, thats ranger/car territory.

Those 7 lug components should sell fast.

7 was the heavy duty option. I think they dropped it after 04, I think it was a leftover from the previous 150 series (97-03).
The 7 hole parts are hard to find used, so you should have no problem selling what you have if you want to convert.

The 7 lug trucks ran up to 2014, the HD package appears to have switched to 6 lugs for the 13th Gen trucks.

The OP has a heritage 04, which is a 10th Gen truck. The non-7700 version would have 5 lug wheels. That would be why the OP wants 5 lug parts. (F-150s had 5 lugs for decades before the 11th Gen trucks, and ram 1500s and tundras do to this day. Hardly unusual for a half ton to have 5 lugs)

As said, at a minimum you're looking at getting the 5 lug front hubs (may have to get spindles from a 5 lug truck, not sure) , brake components, rear axleshafts and brakes (probably be easier to just change the whole rear axle honestly). That might be it, not sure if there's a couple other parts that differ or not, at least in terms of parts you'd have to change over.

I'm not sure I've heard of anyone actually doing such a swap before. If you're going to attempt it, hats off to you. best bet, in my opinion, would be to find a 5 lug donor truck so you'll have everything there.

I knew I would start to learn stuff when I posed this, - very pleased, like to learn

I did not know there was a six-lug spindle, I thought 7 was weird.

Main reason I wanted to get away from 7 was the lack of wheel choices.

Can I go to eight, and does a lightweight wheel exist for a eight?
