5.4L V8 Automatic to Manual Transmission Conversion

I looked into it. I couldn't get a straight answer on which manual would direct mate with my electronic transfer case. I also struggled to find out if the box length matched the automatics length.
Other than that- I found a few bone yards with 4.6 f150 manauls that would sell the whole pedal box, shifter transmission, clutch and bell housing for about $500.
I opted not to pursue it for alot of reasons but one of the major ones was I wasn't sure how removing the auto box would impact the integrated PCM. My understanding is that is the PCM monitors many engine/trans parameters which are co-dependant.

Anything is possible with enough money, and reading through some of the previous posts about this subject, you're going to need a lot of it.
It's still pretty ambiguous as to if anybody has actually successfully done it. Chalk it up as a pipe dream and move on, IMO.
