Cranks but won’t start - advice
Hello everyone, I have a 2007 Ford F150, XLT 5.4 L and a couple of years ago it cranks but it wouldn’t start. So I have left it for a couple of years and just a few days ago I decided to take it to the auto shop. My reasoning for waiting so long was because I had a very busy schedule for two years so I didn’t really need to work on the truck but since my schedule changed and I have a lot of free time, I decided to work on the truck. They changed the fuel module, they changed the crank shaft. It’s cranking, but it’s not starting. I have a suspicion that it could be the spark coils or possibly the spark plugs. I uploaded a video for you to listen to the truck. Any advice would be greatly appreciate it. Thank you.

I highly doubt they “changed the crank shaft” (unless they charged you a ton of money).
Maybe post some more clarification / details ?

Hello, thanks for responding. I bought the following items: crankshaft, a starter, fuel module. The guy who I took fixes a lot of different types of cars, and he changed all listed items. He stated that this threw him for a loop and he’s unable to identify where the issue really is. He checked everything and there’s nothing that is giving him the indication that it shouldn’t start. He did say that you could be the fuel relay fuse that is soldered in the fuse panel.

Absent any additional circumstances that may not yet be disclosed, I’d say that mechanic is at best incompetent at diag/problem solving, or at worst, intentionally taking advantage of you.
As mentioned, fpdm and crank position sensor (assuming you meant sensor) would not have been causing your no crank issue. And while the starter may not have been “cranking” there could be reasons other than the starter that prevented it from cranking. And, to make it worse, it sounds like now that you have a crank no start condition he is just continuing to guess (and not test / diag ).
you may be on the hook assuming you authorized all that, but I’d still suggest going back and asking some questions, and try to get your old parts back (the fpdm and crank sensor are likely good, and you could take starter to be bench tested elsewhere…. For free)
good luck and post back with how things develop or resolve.

Go back to basics. Fuel, Air, Spark, and compression makes the engine run. Checking for fuel is easy because just getting some starting fluid and spraying it in the intake to see if it starts. If it starts then it is a fuel delivery issue.
Then start checking for spark...and then on down the list. Check fuses 32, 33, 34 to make sure they are good. Troubleshoot before firing the parts cannon.
I read you replaced the fpdm then crankshaft (position sensor) which are two separate issues and unlikely to both be an issue immediately simultaneously.
