Also
Ive never heard of anyone wanting a hyd lifter to bleed down unless there trying to "bleedoff" camshalf lift to get better idle while using a aggressive camshalf (not a normal practice).

A lash adjuster is NOT a hydraulic lifter. A lifter rides on the cam lobes. A lash adjuster never touches the cam.

Bleed down happens anytime the engine is shut off. You want the oil to be able to cycle through the adjuster and not stagnate. If it stagnates, it leads to sludge (or very dirty oil at a minimum) which shortens the life of the lash adjuster.

OMG dude. You're hopeless. NEVER work on an engine. You will hurt yourself.

Notice below. Hydraulic LIFTERS ride on the cam lobes. They're called LIFTERS because they LIFT with the cam lobe to open the valve.

Lash adjusters do NOT lift. They stay in one position and use oil pressure to absorb LASH in the valvetrain. (EDIT: That's the problem with Wiki, they allow anyone, even dumbasses, to edit content in hopes that someone knowledgeable will fact check it...problem is, most of the smart ones are too busy to look up stuff that they already know about.)

Oh my... seriously... lifter or lash adjuster... same mechanism, repackaged to accomplish the same task on different valvetrain styles. They have the same advantages and disadvantages when it comes to controlling valve lash.

So, how did we get to this point? Isn't this supposed to be about oil?
