I sent the firm an e-mail directing them to this thread -- if they want to increase potential litigants. Lets hope they do. It would be nice to have this issue addressed without having to pay a fortune for a plug change!

Well, I finally tackled the Spark Plugs. 91,500 miles on the originals. 3 Plugs broke in the Heads. Took me 2 days. Two of the broken ones, of course, were under the firewall!
Followed the bulletin to the T, still broke 3. The LISLE tool was well worth the $. Two of the broken one's came out with very little difficulty. Another was a BI@#H! That one was # 8, under driver side firewall. I actually threw by back out doing the job, and had to wait 4 days before I could try again. My truck has a 4 inch life, and oversized tires, so I have to do the job on a step stool, hanging over my truck. Part of the time straddling the engine. I read the reviews about E3 plugs. I've used them in other vehicles including an 2006 Mustang GT, with no problems, so I used them on my truck (E3.70). Got the plugs from Jegs, one came broken from shipment. Jegs over-nighted one new plug, no questions asked. Now my truck is running like a champ!! No more weird feeling like the trans was slipping under slight load. Like members mentioned, IT WAS THE PLUGS, NOT THE TRANSMISSION! Yeah!

Just finished changing them out this morning. Began last night. Got all 8 out with no breakage.
Truck 2004 supercrew, mileage 152,000. I am the original owner. I have been aware of this issue since it had 70k but was too nervous to tackle it. Figured I would be rid of it before it hit 100k. Anyhow here is what I did.
Two bottles of chevron techron on a 1/4 tank gas. Drove around all day running errands.
Parked truck let cool a couple hours
Disassembled everything necessary to gain access.
blew out wells with compressed air
Filled wells with 2 or 3 squirts of PB blaster
broke loose each plug 1/4 turn with standard 9/16 spark plug socket and a couple wobble extensions.
Let sit all night.
This morning, tightned plugs back down then backed out 1/2 turn and let sit another 30 minutes
Blew out remaining pb blaster with compressed air
Slowly Removed plugs. 2 of the plugs did not make any noise and i was certain they were broke but they came out ok. They others creaked the whole way out.
The pb blaster really seemed to do its job, I will try and post a pic of the plugs, the heavy carbon deposits were basically sludge upon removal.
Had the lisle tool on hand, purchased it at oriely's for $100. The guys behind the counter agreed to refund it if I did not use it. (power of positive thinking .
New plugs motorcraft sp 515 $7.99 from oriely.
Have not put new ones back in yet, but will shortly using anti sieze on shield only and torque to spec.
Thanks to everyone who contributed to this thread, really got me motivated to get this done

spark plugs on 2005 F150
There is a class-action suit against Ford for the design of these spark plugs. Contact Natan Zipperian at Shepherd, Finkelman, Miller, & Shah, LLP at: nzipperian@sfmslaw.com. This suit is expected to continue into 2012.

just changed my plugs on my own and only broke 3 with about 60k miles on the plugs, i used the lisle tool on the broken ones and it worked great. i said screw motorcraft and went with the one piece E3 sparkplug and so far i am very pleased with the performance of them
