5.4 vs 5.4
Drove my sisters truck and holy crap it pretty much puts mine to shame! Any help on why its more powerful than mine?
Hers pulls hard threw every gear especially 1st
Where mine is sluggish in 1st
Her truck is
2004 F150 5.4 Ext cab 6.5 ft bed, 125,000 miles, 3.73 gears, 4'6 drop 24 inch rims everything looks stock
Mine is
2007 5.4 Supercrew 5.5ft bed, 174,000 miles, 3.73 gears, stock height stock 20s everything stock (mine has new spark plugs & COPs)

There is a significant weight difference with all the 4x4 components vs a 4x2, and again a SCrew vs a SCab, but likely still not enough to describe the performance difference. Then again, hers has a longer bed (all other things being equal, that's more weight).
I wonder, does the OP's truck have the cam phaser issue?

Was there transmission changes between those years? I don't know if there is any difference, but would a truck with a tow package have different gears in the tranny?

Are all 04's 3 valve, our pre 3 valve 5.4's seem to be stronger in the lower end. Mostly e-350 work vans, however.
My 05 want break the tires loose with 3:73 gears and 33" tires 13" wide but they are heavy. I just replace all the timing components.

No 4X4.. Both are 2wd & both are 5.4 3V
Im assuming the Ext cab had a tune because hers goes past 110MPH and breaks loose the heavy as* rims.. Where mine only goes to 95MPH and wont even break the 20s loose

OP: there are several more factors that go into the butt dyno feel. O2 sensors, transmission services, differential services, MAF sensor condition, compression of the motor, bearing condition, brakes releasing, etc all go into the equation with wheel weight, rear gears, and weight. Unless you know all the same maintenance is done and the motors broke in the same way, the butt dyno really doesn't mean much because there are several factors that are in play.

What size tires is she running?
In the same way that running bigger than stock tires effectively reduces your gear ratio, running shorter than stock tires effectively raises it which means faster acceleration.
