So your next step so to speak is to pull the gas tank and replace the fuel pump.

I was thinking the same thing. Dropping a 20 something gallon tank of gas by yourself isn't fun. Haha

Having an intermittent problem with my 05 5.4. Every so often when accelerating (usually while getting on the interstate), my truck will stop accelerating once it gets around 60, i'll hear a ticking coming from the engine, my ac will blow hot and my check engine light will start flashing. After a few minutes of keeping it around 60, it will start accelerating normally, the engine light will go off and the ac will blow cold again. Any ideas what could be causing this? Had my plugs changed a few months back after getting a steady engine light for a cyl. 5 misfire. Engine runs and sounds great, except for this occasional issue. Thanks for any input. Engine has 110k miles on it.

Never heard of that happening.... I don't know if it cost anything but Ford has it owns computer they hook up and it will tell you everything that is wrong. I did that to mine and honestly I ended up selling it cause I was going to need a motor. But you're not losing oil pressure so you should be good. But I would definitely go there and have them hook it up.
