I filled up last night and checked mine; it came out to be about 11MPG. Most of that was in-town driving, with lots of hills. Unfortunately I'm not running stock tires so my speedo is about 9% too slow. That means that I didn't cover as many miles as the ODO says and that I got only about 10.3MPG. That's pretty craptacular, but I knew I'd lose some when I went to bigger tires.

OK, after thinking more about this, I got it backward. If my speedo is reading slow it means I'm covering fewer miles than what it says; it says 54 but I'm actually doing 60. So instead of covering fewer miles I'm covering more than what the ODO says. Is that right? Arggghhhh...math word problems before having too much coffee!

This one is right, you had it backwards the first time. You are going farther than what the ODO says. Also, my wifes 5.4 gets 21-22 down the highway empty and about 15-16 when she isn't racing everything in the city. 07 Super Crew King Ranch. 4x4. 6" lift 35" Nittos. AFe Stage 2 intake, 40 series flow, Gryphon tuner, Royal Purple in everything.

I got an 07 Lariat Screw 4x4. Only 15000 miles on it and I get 15 mpg on the highway at 75 mph for 4 hours straight. Not windy and no load. Not too happy with that. What do you guys figure about that?

Quality gasoline really does make a difference. Top tier gas http://www.toptiergas.com/ is a standard of detergents added to gasoline that is higher than the Fed requires. I find gas quality though can very tank by tank even at top tier stations. Some of it has to do with the alcohol blending. Some pipeline stations blend the gas by first putting the gas into the delivery trucks then adding the alcohol. The "Blending" is done while the truck is transporting the gas. While usually effective, I've seen many instances where a station will get an abnormally high percentage of alcohol in their gas. This will reduce mileage drastically and or cause drivability issues and worst, a no start.
Currently I'm getting 17.6 mpg, half in town, half 45-55mph roads. I've had tanks from the same Shell station where I would only averaged 16.3mpg so it can very from tank to tank.

I just brought home my 2006 Lariat (3.73) and I had reset the mpg computer when I left the dealer lot. It climbed to about 18.6 mpg on some hilly back country roads, then 18.9 on the highway at 69mph locked into the cruise. After some city driving, it dropped back to 17.9 , not too shabby. Burned about 6.5 gallons over 120+ miles.
This was a factory certified model, but last night I found the passenger side high beam is out...nice job Ernie Von Schledorn (Lomira WI dealer). Luckily I bought the extended bumper to bumper warranty through 2013. I have a feeling I will need it!
