5.4 to 5.0 engine swap

Much cheaper and reliable to get a 5.0 equipped truck, arguably a better platform anyway. I’d much rather have a late model 5.0 truck for all the benefits that newer parts and less corrosion provide, I just don’t want to pay for it.
Then the question of being able to do the swap if unable to keep a 5.4 going? It’s not like 5.0s don’t have oil consumption or phaser issues of their own...

So a Lightning swap with upgraded rods, cams and a GT500 SC (2.1L) etc... swap might net about 550whp and 6-7grand. The 5.0 with a tvs2300 (sorry Whipple) is pushing 725whp and more $$$. The nightmare is the wiring.
Would make a hell of a sleeper. I have not found anyone who has done it.

And why do you think that is? Wiring isn't a big deal if you just go with an after market ECU.
The F150 is a heavy truck. If you want to go fast, start with something light.

That’s what I was saying. The reason I would like to swap a 5.0 into my truck is because mine is a 5 speed and it would be cool to retain the idea of a manual tranny mated to a 5.0 in a 11th gen f150.
