That's something like finding the best wife
Jasper engines were favored at one time some say their quality dropped they run about $7500 installed .
Ford reman runs close to that and you get ford warranty .
Lately the power train has gained ground with some users .
Problem is the parts they all may use and the fix of previous issues .
If they don't use oem phasors , a good quality oil pump such as a melling 340 or 360. Then there is the chain tensioners using the plastic ones is a no go for me . Use the metal ratcheting ones . You want oem VCTs also .
Changing these items on a long block would probably negate the warranty if you do it .
A long block needs lots of parts added after receipt --gaskets , plugs , plastic intake manifold , some don't come with oil pan/ valve covers . Injectors may run $300 400 .
Throttle body, water pump , belt pulleys ,exhaust manifolds ,thermostat ,alternator. Fluids, distilled water , antifreeze ,oil/ filter, sensors new or move old over.,vacuum lines ,intake runner control . . They all add up .
Yours may need more or less . Told you it was like shopping for a wife .

I just got a quote for PARTS only ..timing-phasers-solenoids-gaskets ans sensors was almost $2200 after my discount from the local stealership here 
rebuilds can be picked around here for just around the $5 grand mark but I don't think they are using FORD oem parts.
