Oh ya, I started taking the body apart... I guess i haven't yet stated where i am going with this project. Seeing as i am paying for my own schooling/books/insurance/etc etc my truck progresses paycheck by paycheck. I am in school for mechanical engineering, and work as a welder/fabricator/pipe-fitter/designer. Anyways...my plans are simply...build a nice truck. lift, tires, rims, etc are in the plans.

I have pretty much the same truck. Very interested in seeing your progress. And for that price, I think you got a steal.

The guy i bought it off of was initially asking $10 500. This was with 33" Bfg's and 17" black rims (seen in the background of the first few pics). After about 5weeks of talking back and forth and him running into money problems i was able to scoop it up for $5500.

Within the first week of buying the truck I dropped off the heads and my front cover (broken PS bolt) at the machine shop. I got a call the next day and the verdict.....7 collapsed lifters. I bought a new set of lifters, and had new valve seals installed at the same time. 6 broken studs extracted, a port n polish and the heads decked and they were ready for me to pick up. I ordered a new timing set, gasket set, new exhaust manifolds and studs and new cam phasers.

While all of the above was taking place i started to deal with the rust and body work.
