Default 4x4 not working

I have a 2005 f-150 XL. I have floorshift 4x4 and whenever I shift it into 4x4, the light comes on but the front tires do not spin. I replaced the 4x4 Vacuum solenoid about 3 months ago. I'm at a stump.

Did it work before or after you replaced the solenoid?

It was but the solenoid was failin so it was trying to lock in all the time and making a loud ticking noise. So I replaced the solenoid. That was 3 months ago And it all worked fine. But just recently, it has quit working.

When your solenoid was going bad you may have ground up the IWEs. You need to jack up the front end and with the truck off spin the front wheel by hand and the half axle should spin with the wheel. Then with the truck jacked up EBRAKE on and wheels chocked spin the wheel in 2wd. Now the half axle should not spin with the wheel. Last put it in 4x4 running in the air all safety precautions followed again and spin the wheel, the half axle should spin with the wheel. Do this for both sides of the truck and report back details.
