Default 4x4 dash indicator light

The indicator light on the dash of my 2005 has suddenly stopped working when i put it in 4 wheel high. Thought it was just a burnt bulb but it lights up when I go to start up. It engages in 4 wheel drive with no problem and the light comes on for 4 low........just wondering if it's an indication of a problem or just another quirk like the squealing during really cold weather
Thanks in advance

Oh yeah...wasn't too bad mostly light and fluffy stuff but warmed up the next day to make it all wet and heavy. Don't mind it now that I have 4 wheel drive, most of the time I don't even shovel the driveway!

Just wondering if you solved your issue? I am having the exact same problem with my 2006 King Ranch.

When you start the truck, all the lights should go on as a test. Check the 4X4 light. I had the same problem and it turned out to be the 4X4 solonoid. It would shift into 4low but not 4high.

Check the IWE vacuum solenoid under the hood on the firewall passenger side. If you can hear the 4x4 hi engage, its usually this. They get moisture in them and there's a new design out with a shield over the solenoid. Literally takes 10 minutes to change.

...and the solenoid should cost less than $30.00.
