Default 4" lift Vs. 6" Lift

hey guys, i need help on deciding whether or not to get a 4" or a 6" lift. the only thing thats keeping me from the 6" is having to get 35's and having to re-gear. also i didnt know if the 6" had any less fuel economy than the 4". pretty much i need to see some fords with a 6" lift and some with a 4" lift with 33's. also any opinions to help my decision would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

I have decided to go with a 4" and 35s. Atom use to be a member and had a truck that looked just like mine. that helped me. He had a 4" rancho lift with 35" Nitto Mud Grapplers. Its a good looking truck. Everyone has a 6" lift so You eather go 8" and 37s or 4" and 35s. atleast thats what made me decide. This is a photo of Atoms truck below. My truck looks identical all the way down to the PTM bushwackers.

They both will look good. 4" lift with 33" tires look good. Or even 4" lift with 35" tires look good. Are you going to be offroading any? Or just a street queen?

I plan on 5" with 33" tires like Blackbeast FX4..

The 4" Rancho lift is closer to 5 inches. What about a 34" tire to run with this. If you have 3.73 gearing you will be OK. Also the higher you lift the more air drag you will have at highway speed's. Remember the taller and wider tires get the less mpg's you will get due to the heavier weight.

I was wantin' to keep my stock wheels, so I'm really thinkin' about the Rancho 4" lift. I was originally wantin' to go with a 6" lift, but it would get expensive when wheels and 35's are needed.

What has me thinkin' now, though, is this picture I found of a King Ranch the same color as mine with a Rize 8" lift. I drool over this truck. I might wind up just savin' up a chunk of change and go with this setup. http://gtcarlot.com/car/545697

I'll probably just get a leveling kit to hold me off for a while. But instead of 6", I'm thinkin' either 4" or 8". Big difference between the two, but they both look good.

fordman yes. rancho makes very good lifts. idk bout a 5. wut years your truck?

twister if you get a rize 8" yes your gonna wanna regear. its not manditory but youll feel the loss alot. when i get the 5" rough country and crank it over and run like 38s or bigger i prolly wont regear for a while but ill have to take it easy
