4.6L Towing
Towing Question..
I have a 2007 F150 4.6L, towing capacity of 6200LBS. I'm have a change to purchase a new TT at a great price. The issue is the trailer is 5400LBs dry weight. I figure on an average weekend I'm probably looking at 6600 of trailer behind me. Is this too much trailer for my truck? I only do short weekend halls no more that 50 or 60 miles. |
Yes, because you'll be over the limit for brakes/springs, cooling capactiy, etc. I'd recoomend a lighter weight trailer; you'll have peace of mind and a margin of safety that you won't have with this setup.

well aside from the fact that the 4.6 won't pull a grub worm out of a wet hole, I'd say it's not that bad. the biggest issue with pulling weight is stopping the momentum. can you pull it? yes. can you stop it? eh debatable. I've pulled more than that with my 4.6 but took it pretty easy

You have the answer right in front of you. Ford tells you the towing capacity.
