Default 4.6 Exhaust Suggestions Needed!

Hey guys i have an 05 F150 4.6 and im looking to get exhaust soon. i was wondering if anyone had some soundclips of their 4.6 with exhaust. im currently looking to get a single in/dual out flowmaster super 44 muffler and 2 4x18x2.5 slash cut tips. i know some of yall will say dont get "slowmasters" but i like the sound of them even if i dont get the 1 more HP that magnaflow might give me.... I drive a truck not a racecar. i just want a good sounding, cheap set up... i can get the 2 tips and muffler from ebay for $140 shipped and installed for probably an additional $70. but i just wanted to know if anyone already had this setup? just shoot me some suggetions, it would be greatly appreciated!

Yea I would get a single side dual exit magnaflow... flowmaster is a little loud for me. And it could easily be a DIY and save a 100.. If your wondering how to replace the stock cat-back check out "motorztv" either at their website or on youtube. he has all kinda of DIY stuff

Flowmaster I hear has a pretty bad drone.. But from experience from magnaflow it is quiet in the cab

Flowmaster is louder although not by too much.

+1 vote for the magnaflow SIDO. I've had mine for a couple of weeks now and love it. I didn't want an obnoxious sound, but I did want it to sound mean when I started it up and when I gave her a little gas. I can hear it in the cab, but not too bad and it's definitely not annoying. It has a deep, throaty sound which I really like.

I had flowmaster 40 true duals on my old 4.6. They sounded great around town but they do have a lot of in-cab drone on the interstate! I'm going with the magnaflow SI/DO on my new 5.4.

I just put on a Flowmaster Force II Tune CatBack kit (3" piping, 50 Series muffler, 3.5" tip) I ordered from jegs, did it all about a month ago. got a Side Exit single port and it was $300 plus shipping and handling etc. To be honest in my experience it seems to be about the same volume as the magnaflows my buddy just installed on his (we both have the 4.6) and mine even sounds a little bit deeper. Not to mention mine is even quieter than his at idle. And a solution to the slight incab drone is drive with the windows down.

I asked my Ford mechanic what he would suggest for exhaust for my '08 4.6. He told me a 3" in and 3" out siso magnaflow. I asked about duals and he told me that it will be just as loud when I stepped on it, and no drone in the cab. $400 for siso, custom bent stainless exhaust. I read on another thread that there are some performance considerations to make, between single and dual exhaust. I am probably going siso at x-mas time.

some good info on exhaust systems, plus's and minus's.
