Default 3rd brake tint question

Hey guys i want to tint my 3rd brake light with Nightshades, I already did my tail lights, but want to finish the job. My question is did you guys tape off anything? or just spray the whole thing? Also, how does it come off? I haven't looked at it yet.

Thanks guys!

There's two screws that hold it in place. And I can't speak for anyone else but I did the entire light

I taped off the clear area and sprayed it with 2 thin coats then took the tape of and sprayed the entire thing with one more thin coat and clear coated multiple times. Looks pretty good I think.

Thanks guys! I'll have to go searching for some ideas. On my tail lights, they look like they have a rough finish. After i cleared them they dried that way. I hear Meguiars Ultimate Compound will fix that?

Did you sand them down with wet sand paper before tinting and wipe with alcohol?

Exactly what I did.... Didn't want to lose the bed light.
