3rd Brake Light Wire Harness
I recently got into the bed of my truck for the first time ever since owning it over the past year (yes, I know) and the 3rd brake light has a crack in the center of it. Upon taking it off to replace it, the bulb in the center has melted the harness and it needs to be replaced.
The replacement 3rd brake light (Standard Techsmart S67005) luckily includes a new harness.
I went to replace it, but could not pull the wire out enough to get to the connector. Do I need to remove the headliner to access the harness or is there another way to get to it?

No need to mess with the headliner.
On mine, I pried out the friction plug that secures the inner portion of the wiring harness to the cab roof to allow some extra slack. If you can't get your hands in far enough, use a long screwdriver or equivalent.
This lets you unplug the outer section of the harness easily and to plug in the harness from the new light.
I assume you're installing a new LED third brake light.
