Default 36in tires on 2004 fx4

I am wondering if I could fit 36in tires on my 2004 fx4 with a 2.5in level on it? I know I can clear 35s no problem with out triming but what about the 36s? The reason I as is I can get 36in military tires for dirt cheap and am very interested in getting them.

just tires your getting ? military tires are measured 1\2 inch shorter and 1\2 inch taller . So, special wheels are needed. 36 1\2

Also I have heard they are very heavy. You have stock gears I assume, if so they may put quite a bit of strain on your drivetrain.

They sure do.. Good luck steering with them at higher speeds, they will turn into a set of skis.
We had some 36" military's on a beater Chevy 1500 back in the day. We went to take a turn down a street a from the top of a hill, hit a patch of sand and slid through a fence.. They are a very hard compound of rubber with no give. Don't do it if its a daily driver.

Alright ranks for the input. I didn't realize that you couldn't get radials until you get to 37 inches anyways so throwing this idea in the can just on that fact.
