2005 5.4L Fx4 supercab, K&N CAI, 4.88s f/r, Edge power chip, 37x12.5R17. If I set cruise control at 70MPH on a flat road I get 12.5MPG.

How's the upshift/ down shift in and out of overdrive with the 4.88s?

I have not used overdrive (I dont think), but the one complaint I have is some times I feel like it should shift up and it dosent. It can be good and bad I guess. If I am looking for MPG its bad but if I am looking to excel quicker its good. No issues with down shifting.

unless your turn the overdrive off, it goes into it. And your tuck feeling like it needs to shift is prolly cause your cruising rpm around 70 mph is prolly something like 2100-2200

That's good then. With your gearing as low as it is, it doesn't sound like your tranny is suffering from the 37's your turning. If you had stock gears, it would be a dog and the transmission would be shifting up and down constantly to maintain speed. As far as gas consumption.... Rule #1- Those of us who lift out trucks and put large tires on have no business even speaking about fuel mileage (myself included).
Rule #2- Keep the shiny side up.

Haha yeah I agree! Im probably going to stick with a 6" lift on 35s like I originally planned. The only reason I thought about going bigger is because I parked next to a f150 this weekend that was on 37's with a 6" fabtech lift and leveling kit with an add leaf. It was beautiful. Ill try to post a pic
