3” isn’t almost too much, it is too much. That’s why you reserch before you buy.

Like XL stated.. 3" is too much for your 4WD. This will put your CV shafts at an extreme angle and cause ***** joints to prematurely wear.

Thank you! I appreciate the advice. What leveling kit would you recommend? Ill return the lift asap! I thought 3'' was the max but apparently its to much. Any advice is good advice! Thanks! I see a lot of people with 2.5 rough country.

I am about to swap out my Sky Jacker 2.5" leveling spacer which did a great job for the last 85K miles... I bought Ready Lift coil overs 2.5" that will be going on with new Upper and lower ball joints..tie rod ends..sway bar bushings and links.

On my '07 I had it up on Rancho Quicklift struts which are about 2.5" (liked them enough that I bought them for my '16 as well), factory block, and got 35x12.5's on the same factory wheels you have. Trimmed a little plastic, and ran 1.5" wheel spacers with that setup though. Wheel spacers were to stop them from rubbing the frame, which I've yet to hear anyone else having an issue with. Lol. Tire width allowed on your wheels (20x8.5+44) will be dictated by the tire manufacturer for the specific tire. Your wheel is a 20x8.5 with +44mm offset. I had Federal Couragia MT's on mine, I loved them and got about 30,000 miles if I remember right. 3" is that top limit and you will see reduced lifespan on several front end components unfortunately.

Alignment was way off

Trimming it required

VERY full wheel wells

Then put through its paces offroad, and pulled out a Jeep (guy later became my best friend from college, we still talk almost daily).

3" is the max on the newer 2015+ trucks. 04-08 you should do now more than 2 1/2", with 2" being better. If you want that much lift, get a 4" lift. That will correct your ball joint, CV, and tie rod angles. It shifts the lower control arm down and replaces your knuckle. Also lowers you sway bar and and front diff. Rough Country has a 4" lift for about $1100.
