I'm gonna be running 295 with stock rims. Is a programmer required with these tires? It's a 2008 Lariat super crew 4x4 with 5.4

...Guessing your asking because of speedometer change? Could use a gps to know where certain speeds are and over time save the miles when you sell it. Figured out on a friends dodge diesel that his truck probly showed nearly 10,000 miles less than it had on it with the 285's he has ran since he bought it. It was off almost 5mph at 55mph from what I remember.

295s require re-calibrating the speedo? Hmmm, guess that's another thing added to my list when I get em!

i would highly recommend it for speedo and proper transmission function. also a gear swap would be smart, i have factory 373 gears with that tire and it's constantly shifting if i'm driving under 65. so kind of sucks for pulling anything.

Yea, I have a stock Fx4 set-up and can never remember what gears I have but I'm sure mine are 3.73 too

I have 295/70R17's Cooper STT's on my '06 5.4 with 3.55 gears, they're an inch smaller than the 18" wheel equivalent, but with your 3.73 gears they probably drive about the same. I have an edge evo on mine, and my truck drives no problem whatsoever. I lost a couple MPG's all around but it has plenty of power...

I'm sure I have the 373 gearing with towing package. Will it do any damage running without a programmer for a bit?

Not going to hurt anything but will take some extra power to turn them
just check your speed with a gps and keep it in mind when driving around so you don't have to pay a speeding ticket out of your upgrade fund

My speedometer says 61-62 while my GPS says 70... Well before adjustment it did.
