Default 2016 Factory wheels on 2007?

My 2007 Lariat needs tires and I'm looking at buying some takeoff wheel and tires from a 2016. Tire size is the same 275/65/18 and they are 6 lug so I'm assuming fitment will be the same, is this correct?

How will the TPMS work, it's my understanding that my current ones are a band on the rim and the new ones are in the valve stem. Will the new style fit work with my truck or will I be stuck with the tire warning light on all the time.

Thanks in advance.

You have to use your current sensors. I would get a new set of 4 just because they are rated to last 10 years or less. You have to use the correct lugnuts as well. The 2015 up have a different size.

What is different about the lugnuts from 2007 to 2015?

Length?

Also, can the TPMS be turned off or will the light always remain on if the correct sensors aren't used.

2015 up is 14mm x 1.5 and ours use a 14mm x 2, the threads are different. Not sure if you can turn off the dash warning light.

Tpms can't be turned off and you won't pass inspection if your state does that. You could put a piece of tape over the warning light if you didn't want to put the sensors on.

They've saved me a couple times when I ran over a nail. I'd keep them working.

Thanks for the responses guys, really appreciate it.

Still confused on the lugnuts, I have verified they are different from the parts store but I don't understand.

If I use my original wheel studs, then I would stick with the M14-2.0 lugnuts I would think. It's my understanding the 2.0 is thread spacing so using my old studs the thread size would remain the same. Am I correct?

Yes, reuse your existing lugnuts if they have the same base/seat as what the new wheel calls for.

Just wanted to followup and say thanks for all the responses. I was able to put some 2016 factory takeoffs on my 07. Ended up getting them for $850 with free shipping, the completely change the truck, looks amazing. Ordering some original style lugnuts for it next and then switching over to the VDO Redi-Sensor TPMS system.

Thanks again for all the help with my questions!

I did the same with excellent results. The VDO sensors seemed like a better option to me vs buying new bands and they work just fine. You will need to sync the new sensors to your truck. I bought the tool from Amazon and did it myself.
