Angry My Truck Disaster!!!!!!!

I had brought my truck into the dealer to have the Hvac control replaced as it did not work all the time along with some other things. WOW. What a mistake!!!!! Got my truck back today and it is totally trashed out!!!! Did I say I hate it when people touch my truck?

They fixed the problems but they wreaked the inside of my truck.

I had a list of 7 things that they screwed up good.

I went to give hell to the service manger and he could not believe how bad my truck looked. His words were "we look like idiots", yes you do! He was the one that had checked me in and remembers how clean my truck was with not one grease or dirt mark on it. He had also said when checking me in that it looks like I really take good care of it and the interior lights like very cool (LEDs).

Here was my list of complaints

1-Random clips and a bolt laying on the back seat that should most likely be some where.
2-Grease/dirt covered everything (dash, door armrest, middle armrest, seat, carpet, door sill,
3-Radio was not put back flush with the surround.
4-Coolant was 2" below the cold fill mark (they had to drain it along with the AC to do the repair)
5-Left there 12" socket laying in the hood track (found this out as the hood was about a 1/2" above the body line).
6-Carpet is ripped up by were the dash meets the floor in the middle.
7-Random pieces of plastic molding are not clipped together

Here are some pics, they are not the best and really do not show how full of grease and dirt everything is.

Hard to see but loaded with dirty marks

Not flush, the clips I had in there to make it flush were found under my mats!!!

Anybody missing this?

Coolant way low, did they not check it after they filled it?

Ripped Carpet

Not that big of a deal but the bracket is upside down!

Service manger said this is 100% not acceptable and the tech that worked on my truck will be looking for a new job come Monday! I say good, if you can't do a better job then this you belong at burger king. There was no attention to detail what so ever.

And I also have two buyers coming to look at my truck this weekend, great. In my ad it says interior is extremely clean and well taken care of, not anymore:fyi:.

As of now they are ordering me all new floor carpet and door sills. For the rest they will be bringing it to a detail shop and have it detailed inside and out til it is prefect. He said if they can't get something out they will replace it, including the seats that a full of it

Ugh.....Rant over

Sounds like the kind of service manager I would love to deal with.

No doubt.

When I took delivery of my truck, there was a chip in the clearcoat on the passenger door. I took it in and said I wanted it fixed, they wanted to fill the chip and buff it and call it good. I said "I could do that, paint the door, or take back the truck", this was said to the store manager as it wasn't a service issue. I took it two them with less than 200 miles on it, it was completely in show room condition.

I picked it up and they did take the door off and paint it, but the interior was FILTHY, dust everywhere tape stuck to the carpet, etc etc. So the next moring I went back, walked straight into the managers office(no need for receptionist help) and said come look at this. After about a 10 min yelling match, I left trails leaving the parking lot and haven't been back. All decals involving that dealership were removed that day, and I have not been back except for warranty work, my oil changes are done at the Lincoln dealer(which is closer to my work anyway).

I tried to be civil at first but when the first thing the manager said, is "I didn't want to paint the door, I did it, be happy and get over it" my response was "You want me to accept a band-aid on a 30K truck? I won't be happy and I won't be back,".

They didn't even offer a detail.......

I figured all dealerships were alike: When I took my truck in for a coolant flush and rear end fluid change last week, the service advisor walked around the truck with me looking for any paint problems (I.E. chips, scratches, etc). Then he inspected the interior for same. I too am very **** about keeping my truck clean (including the engine and engine compartment. He even said the engine was spotless, considering it had 79K on it.

The truck was clean when the work was done. My only complaint (not to service advisor) was that the drivers seat was slid forward and the rear view mirror adjusted aparantly for the mechanic to test drive. No biggy on that.

That grease and grime on the trim and carpet would have sent me into a mouth foaming lunitic. Good that the dealership followed up with assuming all responsibility and charges to correct.

Bet that mechanic won't do well at Burger King either.

That is horrible! I would be livid, good thing the service manager is helping you out because that's totally unacceptable.

My hair would be on fire if I took my truck in for service, completely clean, and got it back looking like that. Sorry you're having to deal with it, but at least the service manager is taking care of you. Not all dealers are bad though, I've had my 08 over to the local dealer twice (once for warranty, once for computer adjustment), and both times I got it back spotless
