2008 F150 XLT oil?

I am, but since I change the oil every 5k, I wouldn't get the full benefit of a syn. The reason I like synthetics is for their NOAK values. Since these engines are prone to VCT vanishing issues, a low volatility, in theory, would lead to less varnish. But again, more $$ for a 5k oci.

Wasn't dumping on anything that was opinion. People were stating things as "facts" that were not correct...I was merely correcting misinformation.
If someone opined "I prefer 30wt"...cool. I said to each their own.
When someone attempts to state "factually" that 30wt is a better selection than the factory decision, that's where I feel the necessity to voice actual facts on why that's an incorrect assessment.

I dont think anyone on this thread said the 5w30 was better than factory. We are stating our opinions based on the oil selection from around the world for the same engine. Ford AU thought 5w30 was 'the best selection'....

Alright I think this thread has gone on long enough and has taken a turn just like all the other oil threads. If you would like to continue the discussion on oils please do so here. https://www.f150forum.com/f4/5-4l-en...-i-use-337712/
