Default Acceleration

I have a 2005 f150 lariat screw. Mods are DIY intake, K&N drop in filter and an aftermarket tuner ( i dont want to use the name of the tuner just yet so I dont get a lot of replies telling me its the brand of the tuner). When its stock acceleration is instant, either from stop or moving. When I install the tuner ( I have had it on all settings but I havent messed with shift points and stuff like that) I get a heck of a lag, about 1.5-2.0 seconds. I know its not a sports car and I dont want it to be one but why would I get the lag with the tuner. Thanks and sorry for the mystery.

No cold air kit on it, just performed the gotts kit, replaced the 2 1/2 tube in the fender well to straight 3 ". So I dont believe there is any compromise there, I even put the stock air filter back in and the hesitation is still there with the tuner installed. Just seems weird is all.

Thats what I thought the tuners should do, instant response. Kinda why I dont wanna disclose the brand of the tuner just yet. If I cant get any reasonable answer then maybe it is the tuner. I hope not though but I dunno.

If it is a tuner with canned tunes, those tunes were made for stock intake and exhaust. By using it with performance intake and exaust, you are using it with something it was not tested for and adjusted for performance.

It is a canned tune that is being used but no after market CAI or exhaust has been implemented.

then its def that gotts mod. it's only good for up to 03 models i hear.i was reading a thread about this yesterday. your getting to much air from your intake now which is making your truck lean as ****. im surprised u dont have codes and that check engine light popping up. you should def return to your stock intake or just buy a aftermarket 1. sometimes those cheap tricks dont always pay off.
you have a nice truck and im sure you payed a nice penny like a lot of us did, dont be cheap now bro lol

With the CAI you dont get much performance unless your really running your truck 3500+ rpm. If it was the gotts mod then I should see something on stock just not on tune. I am running the autoenginuity program and there are absolutely no codes, I run the program as I run the truck and it records nothing so I do not believe its anything real obvious just a setting or something maybe. Thanks.

u get the best use out of a caI if u have a tuner which will help u pretty much at every rpm and gear. but with a tuner with actual tunes not the canned ones. those are made for stock setups
