Default 2008 4.6l F150 to 2008 5.4L Expedition Engine Swap

A buddy of mine was asking me the other day about an engine swap between a 4.6l 2v f150 to a 5.4l 3v expedition engine and if it was possible so I told him I would find out. in my opinion I would say so right? If I'm right what would he need to do it(wiring harness, ecu, belt) but if I'm wrong why?
here is a picture for reference not sure if it helps but it doesn hurt.
2008 F150 4.6l

2008 Expedition 5.4l

keep in mind it is the last gen f150 and the expedition is the current gen expedition

Quite a few other people have asked (very) similar questions. The computers for the 2v and 3v are different so more would be involved than just swapping engines.
No one has really gone through with this swap, usually just 2v to 2v or 3v to 3v.
Just get a lightning engine with a supercharger and call it a day

It's a lot cheaper to sell the 2v and buy a 3v....

We're just trying to give you the best advice, not just what you might want to hear. There's a first for everything though, so if you want to spend the time/money to make that swap work, then do it. Best of luck!

If you want encouragement you will definitely receive it here. Keep in mind several things. Some of the more experienced members here who have backgrounds in doing such work may or may not recommend this course of action. Another thing to consider is that there are usually a few options out there. Also take into account you have not mentioned much about your vehicle. Any reason for the swap? How will you be using your vehicle? How long do you plan on keeping your vehicle? What kind of condition is your vehicle in?

Agreed. Can it work? Certainly. Has it ever been done? Yes. Are there better options? Absolutely.

Ok thank you. my friend owns a 4.6l 2v v8 2008 f150. he wants more power that is the reason for the swap. he will be using it regularly nothing sshmancy, he wants it for a good more 5 years it is in good condition never has had an issue.
