Alright, heres my problem along with everyone elses. I need to get better gas mileage. Currently if I drive like my grandma I could get 13.5. If im cruising 72 on the interstate I could pull 16-17. The truck is a 2007 f150 5.4l lariat crew cab 5 1/2 ft box with 121, xxx miles. Has leveling kit and 33's. Im starting college soon and will be traveling 340 miles to cleveland ohio every other weekend. Any help would be greatly appreciated!! Thanks rocco!

It sounds like you are lucky as it is. I also have a Lariat Screw short box, and I can't even make 16 on the highway.

As far as getting more, I would suggest a route that has you going downhill at least 90% of the time, a tail wind, and someone behind you to occasionally take over pushing.

Agreed. I have an 04 lariat screw short bed also and 16 mpg on the highway seems pretty good to me especially at 70 mph. The only thing I could suggest for better fuel mileage is keeping your truck under 2000 Rpms whenever possible.

Get smaller, stock size tires.

33s lift 2007 F150, there ya go. I have an 04 2wd 4.6 and pull about 15 MPG in summer so I'd consider yourself lucky to be at 13.5. You won't see much improvement no matter what you do with that setup.

Thanks everyone! I hear a lot aboutt doing a cold air intake, handheld tuner, underdrive pullies and electric fan but the fan I figure is a little extreme. any input?

Those wont necessarily help.

My 07 supercab 2wd with the 3.55 gear would nail 20mpg on the highway, 14mpg in town. It had a borla, volant intake, and tune. Did that stuff help? Just a little....but i had oem sized tires. You have a lift - heavier components and bigger tires - more rolling resistance, that stuff doesnt help. If you are leaving for college and will be traveling every other weekend....get something with four cylinders that you can afford. Don't let your lifestyle over take life.

A tuner will give you the best bang for your buck however don't expect much mpg gain there. You will get some power back and it will show the correct MPG with your tires if you calibrate it correctly.
