Default 2007 F150 HD Front Differential Leak

I was changing the oil in my truck this last weekend and noticed a rather bad leak on the front differential where the drive shaft connects. I have been getting a bad shutter/vibration when at a dead stop and for 1-2 seconds while accelerating the shutter and vibration happen. Once up to speed it goes away. Could the leak be the cause of this? Can some gaskets just be replaced and do a fluid change to fix it or is the diff shot? The truck has 94500 miles with a leveling kit, 20" wheels and 33" tires. I plan on replacing the shocks and struts next week and would like to solve this issue as well. I am pretty novice when it comes to differentials but I am mechanically inclined.

Unless you are in 4WD, none of that is turning (unless you have one of the AWD transfer cases). It's likely the slip yoke on the rear drive shaft that needs to be greased. If that doesn't fix it, the yoke/drive shaft will probably have to be replaced.

Yes it's the AWD version. I'll grease it and see if that fixes it.

I believe the AWD trucks should have a 2 Hi position on the selector switch, correct? That would stop the front driveshaft from turning. There's no need for it unless you are driving in bad weather.

Greasing won't help anything. The drive shaft has to be removed and the seal replaced.

The switch only has AWD or 4HI. I've replaced driveshafts before but not replaced seals.
